Podracing should be the ultimate career goal, not a side mode
Hello Secret Mode and Fuse Games team,

I am writing as a potential player who has been following STAR WARS: Galactic Racer with great interest.

The game’s mix of arcade racing, different vehicle classes, dangerous tracks and career progression looks genuinely promising. However, I would like to share one concern that could strongly affect my decision to buy the game: the role of podracing within the campaign.

For me, and seemingly for quite a few other players discussing the game online, podracing is the main emotional reason to be interested in a new Star Wars racing game. Landspeeders, speeder bikes and skim speeders can provide useful variety, but they do not have the same unique identity or nostalgic appeal as the podracing seen in Star Wars: Episode I.

I believe the existing vehicle classes could form an excellent career ladder rather than competing with podracing for attention.

The player could begin in the lower underground leagues using speeder bikes, landspeeders and skim speeders. By winning races, gaining reputation, attracting sponsors and defeating rivals, the player would eventually qualify for podracing—the fastest, most dangerous and most prestigious class in the Galactic League.

Unlocking podracing could then open an entirely new stage of the campaign, with dedicated championships, rivals, locations, higher stakes and ideally some form of pod construction or customization.

This would create a powerful sense of progression:

The player would not simply select another vehicle class. They would feel that they had finally reached the pinnacle of racing in the Star Wars galaxy.

Podracers could still be available immediately in Arcade and multiplayer modes, so players who mainly want podracing would not be forced to complete the campaign first. Within the story campaign, however, earning access to the podracing league could become a major long-term goal and an emotionally rewarding moment.

My concern is that if podracing remains mostly a separate Arcade or special-event experience—especially without customization—it may feel like a side activity even though it is the feature that attracts many longtime Star Wars racing fans.

I am not suggesting that the other vehicle classes should be removed or reduced. On the contrary, using them as steps on the road toward the podracing league could give them a much clearer purpose and make the whole career feel more meaningful.

I understand that major elements of the game may already be finalized ahead of release. Even so, I hope this perspective can be considered for the campaign, future updates or post-launch expansions.

Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I am sharing it because I believe STAR WARS: Galactic Racer has considerable potential, and a deeper connection between career progression and podracing could help it become the Star Wars racing experience many players have been waiting for.

I would be very interested to hear whether other players see podracing as the natural endgame of the campaign as well.

Kind regards,

Phoenix

The game should be primarily podracing. Reviving this thread because it seems they've fumbled big time.
