What's the type of view First person, Third person ECT...? [solved] Birds eye view <---
Just to clarify, I saw the over the head view but since the previous game had first person I was just wondering is the entire game over the head?

birds eye, isometric, however you want to call it. you look down on your character and on your surroundings (which is tbh a bit new to me for a horde-survival game)

♥♥♥♥, had I seen that, I never would have bought the game. I wanted a first person shooter like Prelude. It simply did not occur to me they could switch genre.

Well thats a small/big let down, to me that makes me think that the game dev's are either trying something new, appealing to there fans, want to type another type of style and see how it goes, or ultimatly are just purly lazy..

It'd only be lazy if corners are cut, but as you can see in the game and trailers everything was built in extreme detail and we've illustrated how much we can grow a game with our first game Prelude, and how committed we are through Dino Beatdown/Horde.

^-^ I'm not the sort of person to call people lazy, but I don't wanna imply you guys are and from what i know coding and stuff is quite the task at hand but its still nice to see you guys trying new things.

I have heard rumours that a First Person mode may become available in the future. Would that be an aspect the Trek team are interested in? Or will this game be purely top down?

Don't have the game yet,but I plan on picking it up. Stick with Isometric view, to many blasted FPS games these days, nice to see a shooter mixing it up some, plus Isometric lets you be more aware of whats going on around you then FPS.

Now if they want to give the option to play as Isometric or FPS/Third Person that would be cool. Just please don't force FPS?

Glad i saw this. I own Prelude and thought from some of the trailer they show it looks like first person, third person scroll out to isometric view. I guess this is just a top down game. Ill pass. Thanks for the heads up

Well that's a bummer! Was looking foward to it as a FPS... Yep, sorry devs, gonna have to pass on this one as well, and I bought lots of copies of Prelude for friends, we had many hrs of fun out of it and still play now and then. There's just no immersion in top down. Taking down a big Dino or creature from top down vs first person? No comparison. Not my go to type game. Feel this may wind up being what many think as well. Hope it works out for you anyway.

Maybe next time.

You'll be missing out. Anyone that's played a good deal of both is siding with GOO. If you thought Prelude was good Coop, GOO will be great Coop.

I think the Dev team need to re-do their advertising.

Everyhing shows a third person behind/side views. To find it's a top down shooter was a massive disapointment (for me).

If the video, pictures showed top down, not a problem, but just look at them, all high detail third person (behind) cam, hardly top down in sight.

The video did show it was top down. Just not in all the scenes. I can agree it is slightly misleading. I like that it's different, but I just have a hard time enjoying top-down. For the sake of TREK I hope this game is well-received. I LOVED Prelude and will continue to play it.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on GOO as well, watching it progress if nothing else.

Guardians of Orion (Early Access) is definitely launching as a Top-Down Shooter, but it will be growing into much more than that and incorporating additional modes/experiences/perspectives. It is why we built the game in such amazing detail.

We also have other features planned relating to the detail, including a GameDVR and Spectator-related aspects. This is in addition to eventually taking the camera down in certain moments of gameplay, such as map intros, spawning, player deaths, boss intros, boss deaths, fatalities and more.

The first monthly update (Jan 2016 - Stegosaurus Update) will be adding the Slaughter game experience which is a 4-Player Local (same screen) Co-Op mode about lasting as long as possible. There is a mode planned for 2016 which will integrate the TPS aspect.

David, I realize you said that you planned to incorporate additonal perspectives, but in the video it says right at the beginning that it was in-game and real time footage. Most of that footage was 3D third person-y and it looked stunning. But from what I'm seeing the only actual in-game footage is the top down. Could you kind of elaborate why the video advertises a different in-game perspective and maybe have it fixed?
