Frontier and Industry are 2 of the strongest guilds, for early game combos;

Frontier: Forester, Wood Cutter makes infinitely spawning and removing buildings so you can set off other triggers. Herb Garden and the Herb Picker is a solid combo since it triggers the building you get the points from every field, plus a reroll which is nice.
Basically anything with Witch's Hut and Shaman is gonna win you most difficulties.

Industry: If playing WITH frontier, you can put the Nitrary IN RANGE of where the forester spawns, but not in the range where the Nitary will eat the forester, since they eat all NATURE tags you got to be careful.
Nitrary and Quarry will be your bread and butter for the beginning of Industry. Later on you can start getting the Lumber producer and a Sawmill up which can proc most of your Industry buildings per week, so once you get 2 you can chain them together to get all other buildings to trigger 10 times a week. Toolshed is one of the highest triggering buildings in the game so painting it is often recommended. It is also a great target for multipliers since it triggers a lot.

Now for the big Industrial interaction:
Depot and Ore/Gold Ore; Depot, makes all resources REMOVE and BUILD everytime it moves it, so by having GOLD ORE you get +1g for "moving" it to the depot, then another +1g for removing it. With enough Quarries or Mines you can generate a ton of gold per week. (Gold Ore is from the Gold Nugget Heirloom, the Diamond Pick makes Quarries dig up OREs instead so you can get them generating gold.)

I could dive deeper into Heirlooms and a lot of other things but this should get you started with the basics.

EDIT: Commercial early runs around the stalls and Marketplace placement. It's not a super great point scorer, but you get some beautiful gold generation and other things from it.

Biggest tip is to level up every guild first then do the harder difficulties as most of the best buildings need to be unlocked. If you need further help let me know I'll give you info where I can.
Thanks for that explanation, after derping every game with maritime to level stuff up, playing stuff where I have to think makes my brain hurt now (lol)

No worries, it's certainly a learning curve on every guild since they all play differently.

If you are going for the level 10 difficulty it is worth it to plan out your combos before hand since most of the guilds have at least 1 good combo overlap. Some have more.
Commerce:
I like to combine 2 Apothecaries with a Jewelry between. They will spawn herbs for the Jewelry to consume. This gives you gold, and increases the value of your heirlooms. If you're able to get Reliquaries (wall if possible, 2x2 with Lampposts), they can carry the game. If you add a balloon trader near the herbs, the Jewelry will give 3 value.

Industry:
I found that mines and smelters work very well for triggering tool sheds. if you place a sawmill behind your mines, you should be able to feed it wood to trigger all the mines. You do need to have enough smelters to consume the ore that it produces. The toolsheds gets value from both mines, smelters and ores. If you get a workshop or 2 in range, you'll gain a lot of gold too.

Frontier:
In general I try to get forests everywhere. Hunting Lodges will quickly keep you afloat if you make sure to have foresters covering everything. A few woodcutters to trigger the removal effects with stone lantern or synergize with other guilds. Witch Hut is good if you make an apothecary (commerce) give neutral the healing effect or Ocean Shrine (Meritime) give the sacred effect.
Always plan for a situation where you get a post office (Neutral masterwork) as this can be setup with Grove to create max multi triggers. An example would be Grove on top, and Bank (commerce) below (Grove gives a reroll, that triggers the bank which through the post office triggers the Grove again until max triggers are reached). Add a Shaman Hut for point to take advantage of the situation.

Unfotunately a lot of this require a bit of luck to get the right buildings available.
Learn how to abuse the rainbow and ghost paints as well as the potions that enable you to place duplicates of the same building together. These are the most common ways to break the game and build game winning combos. Everything else is minor optimizations in comparison.
Gold pan + marketplace next to them covering both -> ghost paint marketplace to trigger commercial -> duplicate marketplace next to its self covering gold pan.
Game won 20 gold per week plus 10 triggers on anything else next to both marketplaces.
Enough Gold wins all games.
couple of tricks on commerce i like

use ghost paint on marketplaces to trigger other buildings that arent stalls. commerce as a tag can be nice since it will still trigger stalls.

the circus is insane in some setups if you get the rogue guild with a hideout its busted.

the brewery from commerce plays well with agriculture with berry bushes and some point scoring or can lead into giga crop farms with a granary. it also works with civic using plots and a tax collector to chain stuff. big thing is get the brewery a plumbing upgrade so its more consistent range on it helps as well.
