Game resolution is locked (720p)
You can change resolution of UI and menus, but game resolution is locked. And is a low resolution, 1280x720.

Proof

I'm pretty sure that's not true, just go to the game and change the resolution during gameplay, it's not hard to notice that in 720p it's looks more blurry than in 1080p. I also don't know how are we supposed to compare these 2 screenshots, i think 720p screen should be resized to 1080p. And maybe provide other screenshots, i think the difference is more noticeable during gameplay, not during the close-up of your character.

Pretty sure? C'mon. You have the proof in the OP. How can't you see it?

both render at the same resolution. It's pretty evident for everyone with a pair of eyes.

Ok, i'm actually not so sure now but your proof is not very good. Better use png instead of jpg for comparisons. And the images better be the same size but i don't know how to do a proper resizing which won't add something wrong.

Ah, i started typing my message before you posted png screens. And after i posted it i needed to go away, so i didn't had time to see your new screens. Anyway i saw some other screens (made during the pause, so they are exactly the same place) and also made my own, strange that aliasing is the same. I guess it's the sign that it's resolution is indeed 720p. Though 720p on my pc does look a little bit blurier, maybe that's because of some other factor.

Because the game upscales the 720p rendered image into the 1080p final frame and the game upscaler maybe is better than your tv or monitor internal upscaler when game final frame is 720p.

Another negative side effect of this seems to be that if you're running on underpowered hardware, lowering the resolution doesn't improve performance any.

Flipping between the max resolution possible and the lowest resolution possible without having any impact on your framerate has always made me suspiscious that game's not actually changing the resolution :S

idk you could see what gedosato does with this.

Actually I'm more interesed in knowing what G.Rev have to say about this.

I don't expect something from japanese developer. :( Their game can be great but technically, they sucks.
epmode Nov 28, 2015 @ 1:35pm
This is why I'll be refunding the game if I don't see a patch, a user mod or a comment from a developer within the next few days. As much as I love seeing G.rev on PC, I'm getting tired of ports with unnecessary technical limitations.

With GeDoSaTo, I can get the game running at my native resolution but the actual game graphics are tucked into the upper left corner of the screen. Black bars across the bottom and right.

Actually, kind of wondering now -- are people with hardware better than I have getting a solid 60FPS?

It's running at around 40 for me, and I'm assuming that's just because my laptop's on the weak side and you can't actually lower the resolution, buuuuut I just want to make sure.

It's unfortunate that the internal resolution is locked to 720.

It'd be nice to have that unlocked in a future patch.

i find this to be common practice in arcade/console ports... cash strapped developers just call it pixel art... lol
epmode Dec 27, 2015 @ 7:47am
I wound up refunding my copy. I'll happily rebuy if it's ever patched to support arbitrary resolutions.
