Regarding the ps3 sprites
So, not too long ago Alchemist (the publishers of the ps3 umineko games) filed for bankruptcy. Would this perhaps affect the rights of the sprites and voice acting of the game and make it possible for mangagamers to aquire the rights to those assets?

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't it look they're using them? One of the screenshots of Lambadelta looks like the sprite from the ps3 version. Same goes for the background image I have of the Siesta Sisters. Unless the new sprites are so close in resemblence I can't tell the difference, then I believe they are using the ps3 sprites too.

they're using the pachinko game sprites. http://imgur.com/a/6GU25 here's a comparaison for lambdadelta. it's not as obvious as for some of the other characters. As for the backgrounds, based on what's shown on the store page they're definitely the art from the original games and not the ps3 art.

Maybe they used it as a base or their own interpretation of it? The pumpkin is different and her ribbon bows are positioned and sized differently. The eyes seem fairly different too.

Someone had better patch in those PS3 sprites soon after launch, though.

It'll happen. A game like Umineko with a lot of characters with sprites and a bundle of 4 games will take a while. It took a week or two for the Higurashi games (which has 6 characters with sprites compared to 20+ characters in Umineko).

To be fair, it already happened on the original version. I know I have the patch content floating around on my PC somewhere, and there's a Tweaking Umineko wiki page too. I doubt it'll take long or be as difficult as the first time around, since everything is sorted out already and the tweaking patches were based on the 4 packs anyway.

Please don't make any assumptions without actually looking into it.

The patch needs to be completely reworked since they changed the engine to something even worse.

Thats what I just said. However for this version it has to be redone like the Higurashi ones.
