EDIT: I forgot to mention, on the unmodded version of the game, Steam Cloud will restore your saves even after you delete them. So you have to disable Steam Cloud for Umineko before deleting any files.
> I've tried reinstalling the game and resetting my computer but nothing works.
Try completely deleting your game folder (i'm not sure that uninstalling removes your save files).
It's located somewhere like: c:\program files\Steam\steamapps\common\Umineko . Specifically, the 'saves' folder has your saves.
i'm not too confident that this will fix it, as I've never seen that issue before...
If you don't have the mod installed but still have this issue, you may want to try re-installing the game (make sure the game folder is fully deleted before re-installing).
You can turn it back on later if you get it working.
If you want to keep your saves, you could also try:
1. Backup your (corrupted) saves to some other folder
2. Disable Steam Cloud
3. Delete your saves (the `saves` folder, and also the `mysav` folder if it exists)
4. Boot the game and launch Episode 1
5. Create a save in slot 1
6. Quit the game
7. In the save folder, overwrite the `save1.dat` file with the backed up save from earlier of your choice.
9. Re-launch the game and try loading the save
8. If everything is OK, re-enable Steam Cloud, and choose to upload your local saves to Cloud if it asks you.
