Im new to this game (and board games) so Whats the best way to play this game "balanced"? with optinal cards or without ? what do people usually play?

Game is often played with Optional Cards + 1 US influence, and that's also how some tournaments are run.

Other common tournament rule is for users to bid influence, but that rarely goes beyond +2 US influence.

Optional cards and +2 influence was the official world boardgame championship rules this year.

The optional cards are basically always used. It's popular to give the US an extra starting influence or two. The Chinese Civil War is unpopular, and the Late War scenario is alright but just not played a whole lot.
