Miltary Operation points not working

Hi

This game was installed in November/December 2020 but have not used it until recently as always played the board game version.

No matter what card I play as an event (my own), the military op board is always stuck at zero for me yet the A! points go up as per normal. I have played both sides on a standard game, always against AI yet the same occurs.

I am getting hammered at this as the scoring is so lopsided.

I have looked at settings but have no idea how to adjust this, any ideas?

Are you sure the AI has not headlined Purge or similar, which takes away 1op from every card?

I'm guessing you are getting the rules wrong. Perhaps if you give an example of a situation in which you think you should get MilOps and didn't?

I went through the rules again and you are right I have been playing them incorrectly. We always played that the points on the top left of cards if played as an event count as military op points - what a donut.

Sorry for wasting your time, now to get stuck in with some coups and realignments.

Good luck, but just in case: realignments don't get MilOps either. Just coups, wars, & some other specific events.

A handy source of military points fairly early on (but not for long unless your opponent gifts you this advantage for a while - can be typical with the AI but not at all typical with humans) is on the alternative space race track. The earliest 'race leaders' prize is to add two military points to your count at the end of the turn. Very useful for card economy, but also risky because a last minute space race push by the opponent can pull it out from under your feet.

Not much use if you are using the original rules for the space race, though, obv.

There's almost *nothing* in this game that's a safe or sure bet, I've been learning. What a game.
