Space race: Discard one held card: How?

This game is very buggy and sometimes it shows me cards being played that aren't yet and my opponant calls me crazy but later in that round plays those cards I psychically saw or whatever but this is really frustrating.

I want to throw away a card and I have the space race bonus and it literally won't let me. I click the card, play for points, resolve event, coup attempt, reallignment rolls. Only options.

How do you discard a card with the space race bonus?

I'm losing this game if I can't throw this US victory points card in the garbage people. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bear has landed. How do I do it?

The ability allows you to discard a "Held card" and a "Held card" is defined as a card that you still have in your hand after your last Action Round in a turn. You can't use the ability to discard anything before then.
Also, as soon as a Scoring card becomes a "Held card", you lose the game for holding a Scoring card, so The Bear Has Landed is not going to help you there.

I mean the card is just "us player gets victory points"

I have the same problem. I can't see how to discard any card from my hand even though I have the Space Race bonus to do so...

You did read my explanation, right? I'll say it again - you can only discard a "held card", and a "held card" is not just any card in your hand, it is a card left in your hand after the turn ends (there are only 10 turns in the game - you do not get to discard anything in an action round).

If you understand all that and you are still unable to discard a card, it must be because your opponent has also reached the same spot on the space race, at which point neither of you can use the ability.
