Speedrunning tips?

I've never speedran a game before but I'd like to get better so I can at least get that under 4 minutes and get the 100% achievements again. Does anyone have advice or tips for speedrunning? My best time so far is 4:35 and I messed up once but it only set me back a couple seconds. I can't imagine going 35 seconds faster.

I watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdH46Sh20ZU many times over and also the world record video. that helped me a lot. Now, (on the runs i finish) I mostly average sub 3.
