So is this good or your average crappy Kemco RPG?
Given they went out of their way to release this one on Steam out of all their RPGs makes me wonder if its actually good.

This is widely considered one of the better Kemco RPGs.

Wow that looks terrible.

I haven't played their other ones, but I actually like this so far. I did almost give up on it at first because the characterization made me a bit nuts, but it evened out somewhat.

I've never played any other Kemco RPGs before, but from what I can tell from this one...it's just okay.

I really like the gameplay design. I find the battle system to be really engaging and battles pretty fun to play. I do think the battles really make you strategize...at least, if you put it on hard mode. I had to do this after the first 4-5 hours because I found battles to be far too easy. At least hard mode gives you an opportunity to strategize in battles.

However, there are some pretty substantial downsides. The characters are pretty one-dimensional and predictable. I could have lived without the harem elements because it got tiresome reading through all the female characters' dialogue as they kept fighting for Zack's affection (to be honest, the only character that I enjoyed doing this was Uriel because she's just abnormally and hilariously stalkerish). I found the plot twists to be at least somewhat okay but for the most part, but it's a somewhat recycled plot from other games. The soundtrack is less than stellar. I honestly have more fun turning the music down in the game and playing my own in the background. The one other complaint I have about the game is it's complete lack of variety in character and enemy sprites...it just rubs off as lazy game development.

This is one game where the gameplay is the only thing keeping me around. I'm having fun playing it even if I find it's characters and story recycled and cliche.

All KEMCO games are pretty generic, but at $4 each on Android (I own all of their paid titles, freemium games really tick me off, just sell me the thing already) they're not bad for the price and mobility, it's the $10 3DS (good mobility but at more than 2x the price of Android) and PC (much less mobile, even with a laptop/convertible, AND an increased price over the mobile release) releases that I wonder about being worth it.

If anything I'd like to see them released on the Humble Store, and a Steam bonus for rebuying the Android title I already own wouldn't be a bad thing, so I could repurchase all of them for my tablet that isn't linked to Google Services.

Well this one is in a Humble Bundle right now where you get the Android and Steam version of this and a bunch of other games.

Asdivine is in the pay $3 or more tier so not a bad deal at all.
