game crashes at launch

Every time I try to launch the game, its crashing after the splash screen. as soon as the dev studio promo starts to play (the tentacle grabbing the divers helmet) plays for about 1 second and then the game crashes and closes. I have verified the files through steam, and everything is up to date with installations, but game crashes no matter what.

Just out of curiosity, try turning off your internet connection.

Putting steam into offline mode allows me to launch the game and play it just fine. But then that defeats the purpose of trying to do online multiplayer with friends. I shouldnt have to put steam into offline mode in order to play the game.

I'm aware of that. I'm not saying it's a fix. I was just seeing if you're having the same problem others are having.

As far as I know, the only thing people have done to get around it is installing the playfab beta.

Right click on the game, go to properties, then the betas tab and select playfab - playfab beta from the dropdown.

Yep, keeps crashing at launch.

Go to your firewall settings, inbound/outbound rules and BLOCK inbound and outbound connection for Turok 2 (horus_x64.exe in steam common folder of Turok 2).
