Cerebral Bore
Could anyone even imagine how evil this weapon would be if it was real?
I just began thinking about this while playing T2, no shade on turok he just stumbles upon the instrument of torture and fear, and the villains do deserve it obviously. But if this were a real weapon, in war, man could anyone just imagine how frightening a weapon like that would be.

I mean just hearing that noise on the battlefield would strike fear into people. Its honestly one of the most gruesome weapons I've seen in a game next to that chainsaw rifle in gears of war, and I actually think the bore is worse in some ways.

As for it being useful in Turok2, I didn't think so much, not unless the enemy doesnt know where you are and you have time to lock on and hit them, then it can be useful, also with the charge dart it can be useful, otherwise it sucks pretty bad.

The bore is best used as a weapon to disable big enemies and kill them in essentially one hit. The bore shines there. Really good when you run through a crowd and send one bore per enemy out into the croud.

We can build something like that IRL. Thing is, no one has done it because it would be banned like how gas was back in WWI. That's not even mentioning the fact of how gruesome this concept of a weapon would be.

I always thought of the Cerebral Bore as a weapon conceived by some ultra-intelligent sadist. There's no reason to drill the brains out before exploding, other than for the gore of it. But I'll be honest, I love the idea of a weapon conceived for such a purpose: to entertain while killing effectively and mercilessly.

I don't use it very often in the game, but it can get mad handy in some situations. I pretty much exclusively take out the Shao Kahn oblivion dudes with it, especially in level 6's oblivion (where there's like a dozen of them IIRC). Sometimes it's also a great clutch weapon. Unless I'm misremembering and it was some other gun, I once used it in level 5 in quite a spectacular way. There's a hall with abour four pillars jutting out of the abyss, forming a sort of stairway, I believe it's somewhere vaguely around where the feather is maybe? Anyway, as you jump on a pillar, a green mantid spawns in an alcove opposite of it. I had pretty much no health, and I hopped sideways from pillar to pillar, immediately shooting a bore into each of the four (?) mantids that spawned. When I landed at the botton, I felt more badass than I ever had in Turok 2.

Would it be useful in real life? Possibly. Think about this:

You're out of line of fire behind lets say building, and you know there's soldiers aiming at your direction, but instead of peaking out with your regular gun, you put you Bore out from your cover and spam the shoot button and hope it locks on to someone, while you're being in cover. I think it would be useful as an off-weapon of sort.

Of course depends on the efficiency of the locking mechanism, the size and weight of the weapon and the speed of the bore and the ability of bore to chase behind objects etc.

Of course you could make lots of guns that do simular gruesome things, such as metal that could just shred the bodie into pieces upon explosion. But the bore is something different entirely, having it sink into your skull then drill out your brains, thats some jeffrey dahmer ♥♥♥♥ right there.

That's a great movie series just remembered it, maybe that's where they got the idea.

Haha yes it was, considering how old they are. I think that is where the idea to make it / put it in to the game came from.

For those not aware, there's also a rather good Death Metal band called Cerebral Bore, they stated they took the inspiration for their name after the weapon.
