Can't backtrack in the River of Souls?
So I played a lot through the original Turok 2 and I immediately notice any map changes made in the remaster. This one change, however, is just stupid. Originally, going through the chamber of the fist Sister of Despair wasn't necessary to progress further into the level (although you had to do it eventually to complete the level) but now you're forced to do it. I don't really have the problem with that (although I preferred the original design of this part of the map with a T-shaped underwater corridor) but now, once you enter the chamber and jump off the ledge, it's impossible for you to come back (unless I'm missing something because I haven't progressed much further from this point). Can you add in a ladder or something in the place shown in the screenshot?

you can just use th4e next checkpoint and warp back to the checkpoint before this

I did exactly that but in the 1997 version there was no checkpoint warping and you could still backtrack all the way to the beginning of each level from any point (unless I'm mistaken and there was a place where you couldn't do that but I don't remember it.

yea warping was added in this version to cut the annyoingly long backtracking through every level, on the other hand it made it possible to skip missions and basically jut collect the keys and warp to the hub and ebat primagen, Not sure how the RoS was in the original it was too long ago since I played that

Wait, that's actually possible? Interesting...

yea ususally you got warped back to the beginning of the level while now you can use checkpoints to the hub world, you will get the bad ending tho

I only remembered being forced to go back to the start in Lair of the Blind Ones in the N64 version after missing something and getting to the end. And that's exactly where I finally called it quits on trying to give it a fair shot. So hopefully, even if I miss something this time, it won't be such a big ordeal to go back and get it, which it already would be more reasonable to do with this version's performance alone.

Yeah, some of these level changes were not well thought out whatsoever. I'm still waiting for the unchanged levels which we're totally gonna get you guys /s
