consequence of destroyed totems?

Let's assume this'll have spoilers... for anyone sensitive to that kind of thing...

So, just to see what happened, I let them destroy a totem.
I hear "mission failed" and get spat out at the rock in space with warp gates...
I then run back into the level, quick warp to the end, and go back into the end level warp, and I was not sent to the totem, but to the rock in space with warp gates...
Then I load to just before the totem was destroyed, save the totem from destruction, earn a cheat, and get spat out at the rock in space with warp gates...

Far as I can see, the only consequence to letting them get destroyed is missing out on a cheat.
I predict there'll be something else should I let them all get destroyed...
Anyone know what that is?

I fear I may not have the time to find out for myself.
I intend to complete turok 2 with all totems intact.

If even one of the Totems is destroyed, you will basically end up getting the "bad" ending.
Same as if you've cheated your way to the Primagen.

If you lose any amount of totems, you don't get to kill Primagen "completely" and get the sort of bad ending. If you do save them all however, you get to see him blow up in a very nice looking fashion.

Ah, so it determines which of two endings you get?
