Lookspring option is toggleable under hobbing options.
Aim assist is on by default, and functions very similar to the n64 release, but can be toned down via the precise aiming option under gameplay.
You know.... If it werent for the N64 controller, then there would have never been a duelshock controller at all. Nintendo had the first controller with a stick, and the rumble pack. All Sony did was make an improvement with it.
The N64 controller was near perfect for many games. I Dunno why it gets the hate it has. The D pad was used for some games with sidecrolling or controlled better with the D pad. The Stick was used for more 3D games.
With Turok it was used rather well IMO.
Wut? The analog stick is already used for camera aim, not movement. Movement is on your c buttons, y'know, something that actually feels like buttons on a keyboard, something appropriate to play a FPS.
EDIT: No lookspring in the headbobbing options. )':
Well yeah they had joysticks, but not the way that the controller really used it, as a thumbstick rather then a huge joystick. It really was revolutionary and a new trick. technically your correct though
Duh wut??? Yeah one stick for camera and c-buttons for movement is a good control scheme for a controller. 'Cause comparing a pos primitive controller is the same as a keyboard? Really? Yeah genius. Also, I am right handed and the analog stick is used by my left hand and the c-buttons for my right. It doesn't work for me, I don't use the mouse with my left hand obviously, so that is why I hate the damned thing. Like I said, one for movemment and one for camera you know like PS1 or other modern controllers. PS1 did it right. Your statement to me means nothing sorry. Still a POS contoller on a mediorce system with only a handful of decent games to play imo.
It's named "adjust view to slopes" which is exactly what lookspring does.
And the default aim assist isn't minor, its massive super auto aim like n64. If you turn on precise, it's more minor yea. You can't fully disable auto aim, but eh it's turok 1, was never designed around headshots or anything anyways so its fine imo.
However, keyboard/mouse is the end all and be all for accuracy(or in my case N64 controller and mouse). I play Quake Live and Star Trek Voyager:EF with a N64 controller(w/Adaptoid) in my lap(left hand) using the d-pad for movement and shoulder button to jump with the mouse in the right hand to freelook/aim.
I guess the above comes from my console background then getting into PC FPS games in the 1999 time frame. That N64 d-pad makes strafe jumping in quake engine games a breeze.
