Honestly in the N64 version I had the auto-map up most of the time because the triangle for the player doubled as a crosshair.
Then practice a few minutes.
I only played for 30 minutes now and was already able to pretty reliably hit stuff near the fog wall.
I wouldn't mind the map if you could adjust the opacity, but it's so irritating to me that I tend to hit nothing when I'm in a larger cave (pretty much the only area I used it occasionally).
Those things don't really have anything to do with the gameplay.
And it's an option in the menu. If it was such a huge deal, why would it be an option? What was so hard about telling the OP where to find the option? This 'git gud' thing is getting really annoying. Just help someone out once in a while, you'll feel better than the smug sense of satisfaction you get from typing 'lol git gud noob'.
Too salty?
You already did.
I also never use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ meme you mentioned.
No need to be an ass because someone wants to play the game differently than you do.
