It's like the second or third thing the tutorial teaches you.
You can keep jumping and angling yourself to climb up slightly faster, but it's much easier and safer to just hold W to climb straight up.
The game isn't that hard to master.
Can you post a screenshot of where you're stuck? I'd be happy to record a video of my keystrokes in that section to guide you.
You don't need to strafe jump to reach any main platforms in the game.
I'm at the end area of Ancient City where there are tons of pillars where you if you miss a jump you fall. All the way in the back of the area towards the left corner there is a giant vine wall to climb. Thus if you fall, you have to start back at the save point and jump all the damn pillars back to that point each time. I've done this like 20 times already with no luck, lol.
Brah, this comment just solved my entire issue. You had me thinking, how come when I jump the second I let go of my jump key (w), I immediately drop. It was because my forward and jump key were bound to "W", rofl.
Now that it's fixed, well first, I can't believe how far I've gone playing the game with it like that (give it a shot, no really, lol), and second, this just got too easy, lol.
how did people (and yes, that includes me) even play games before the internet...
