Turok
A lot of jumping
It's been a while since I've played a game like this. This game has A LOT of jumping in the first part so far- please tell me it doesn't stay so jump heavy- I wanted to play a shooter, not a platformer- (platformers are one of my least played genres). Does it get better or is it like this throughout this game? If it stays this way, it'll feel like quite a letdown.:shodan:

some parts are hard but it's not always like that, just sometimes ;)

The worst part is the end of level 3, after that it's smooth sailing until you reach a couple of bits in level 7, those don't compare to level 3, I'll take those over the final ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is the last bit of level 3.

This just makes me happy I got it cheap, because for a long time I was tempted to get it when it came out. If the 2nd game is like this one, I'll just take it off my wishlist.

Curious question for those of you who have trouble with the platforming; Are you aware of the jump buffer, which gives you about a second to jump while in the air after you leave a platform? You can jump later and further with this rather than trying to jump from the ground.

Some ppl just want a shooter. Not everyone likes or enjoys platforming.

Go play Bulletstorm then.

I play that too, I play a lot of different things. The dev seemed to wonder why it wasn't enjoyed I told them, you need to stay out of it tho.

Or, or, I could reply to whatever the hell I want because it's a public forum. Amazing how that works. :csdmeh:

And I suggested bulletstorm not to be snide, but because:
A: It's a fun game
B: It lacks a jump button

Why don't you try some deductive reasoning?

Yeah, that last part on my reply was a little antagonistic, to certain ppl. Tell you what, you say whatever you wish and I'll just not read it. I don't have a lot of time here, and I'm not wasting it in a forum. Enjoy your day.

Use the map to know where you land.

As FER said, use the map, the Tab key, it helps heaps.

I like the jumping in Turok, it keeps it original.

I thought we all made a collective agreement to rid ourselves of difficult jumping challenges in fps games... I had to do that cave on level one a bunch of times, because I kept missing keys. Slowed down an otherwise awesome level design.
Are you aware of the jump buffer,
Will try that next time! I developed a trick from the 90s when I would mouse look at the ground, and press the spacebar when the ground almost completely disappeared. That dusty skill served me well, today!

Well done. Jumping in the Metroid Prime games was a pleasure.
