i'd like to know as well because i can see A LOT of room for improvement, such as adding tooltips for items that don't have them (there are a lot of items which don't), a bigger variety of crops (there aren't even any non-real life crops), adding more valuable fish / making fish more valuable overall (the average fish is worth only 30 petals), proper clarity for several aspects of the game (it's explained nowhere but in the control mapping that you can drop with Q by default and nowhere at all that you can just walk into two tile high gaps to crouch) and just general polish (a whole lot of visual bugs, especially the case when chopping large trees)
as of now, i feel like it's 3d stardew valley if it was in late beta

i have come again with some bad news freshly baked from twitter
"Staxel @StaxelGame 28m
Replying to [me]
Yup, it is completed. We're making new games now."
they aren't gonna work on it anymore

The game is completed. Could they improve on it? Sure, but that could go for any game that's been released. At least modding is available for this game and its pretty mod friendly from my experience (compared to a lot of past Bethesda games Ive played, yikes).

Would I love for them to continue to work on this game? Yeah, I wont lie lol. But I understand they can't just stick to this game forever, they need new projects to keep their studio alive.

I do enjoy this game a lot, flaws and all.

Geez so they just ditched the game, just like that -_-

Did they add combat to the game? I did a search and people were asking this in 2019 and the replies said not yet.
crzymom Aug 12, 2022 @ 3:44pm
There is no combat in the game and the devs said there was not going to be combat added. Sept 21 of 2020 it was stated by a dev that combat would not be added

Devs marked the game as completed after releasing console versions. Makes no sense with all the bugs and lack of content outside of petal profit. The relationships don't go past making someone as a roommate and there's some glitches/workarounds where you can just place mailboxes in front of already pre-built houses and 'fill in' the leftover requirements. Airship landing building is wildly unfinished. Really just an area where I steal stuff from for other things. Inventory system is atrocious, no way to store things besides dropping them on shelves.

The gear progression has no driving force. The only reason to get the gear is to get better gear, to use that to get better gear. But those better 'gears' don't unlock anything new for you. Ontop of the mining zones only resetting once a month. So multiplayer not everyone can get a set of tools. Not that they're actually useful to do anything.

All this game is is farming and wall of text fetch quests. Fun with friends to just farm and build, but loses it's replaybility very very fast. Once that house is built, and that farm is complete and you have petals to buy any cosmetics you want. Game is over. No combat, no exploration, no relationships drama or antagonistic plots. Bare bone games, my hope died when the devs said it was 'complete'.

i don't know...

It used to be in a League Of It's Own
but, just like any Child's Market

if there isn't the right resource, sometimes they fall into obscurity, but luckily not pink bears or dinosaurs exist in the Base Game

Well then.... this isn't promising. I was going through my reviews I've done to see if there are any games I didn't like or had a list of issues with that I might wanna revisit. Staxel was on the list. Kinda frustrating to see that not much seems to have changed in the game since I reviewed it :/

Did they at least ever add new ways to store things? My biggest issues with the game was that the NPC's had very little in the way of roles other than to serve as quest givers.... and that the storage was a nightmare. When I played last they only had a single bookshelf, a few tables, and some crates in the way of storage. Which was always so frustrating because I had to just build a house and fill it with rows and rows of the same bookshelf. Then the fact that things that should CLEARLY be storage like dressers and the fridge were not.

So the fact that a conversation is even being had over "Is it done done?" Makes me think my question of "Did they ever fix storage?" kind of fruitless but I'm gonna ask anyways a hope.

no storage is still put to the shelves and such no proper chest unless someone makes a mod of it I guess

Ugh :( that's so frustrating. Mods should be for the fun of adding new stuff to a game. Not to fix fatal flaws in a game. Devs should be fixing that, not modders. Being able to SEE the items on a shelf is really cool don't get me wrong. It's just so frustrating that eventually (rather quickly) you will have enough stuff to need to build a whole other building just to put all the crafting benches and your insane amount of items.

yes, on a new save and already have 3 shelves by day 5 cause the amount of stuff for building or needing for quests later on plus always have one near my cows/chickens so not going back and forth as much to feed/milk em and so forth

Yup :/ would have been nice for them to add something to where dressers and fridges were functional. You could put stuff in those things for out of sight storage. Then still keep the bookshelves and if there was stuff you WANTED to be able to see than you could do that. Like I think I'd prefer to have crafting materials on a shelf because it looks nice, but I don't want to have a kitchen with 10 shelves in it for all the food. I'd much rather have all of my food in a fridge. A bit more variety would be nice too. Like adding an iron shelving unity like what you see in garages for stuff like crafting materials, or maybe wooden shelves with a lattice design to use outside for gardening stuff and seeds. Instead of just giving us a wooden crate give us a trunk or a tool box that you open up and still see stuff inside. I'd love a little shelf I could put on a wall that is functional. Like a little shelf you put on a wall that holds two items that I could put on the wall in my barn to hold my cutting shears and my milk bucket.

well one way or another we need to activate the modding community's skill, to make this Game catch on FIRE again, because it has creative mode, but also an excellent journey

if the devs are to abandon this game, they could at least open source it, so the community can take over.
