Staxel
Issues starting the game.
Good afternoon, I saw the game on sale, it looked pretty neat. I bought it. Downloaded it and now it doesn't work

Staxel has failed to start. (try Staxel -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files...). ExitCode: 0x00

I'm getting that error. I've reinstalled the game a few times now and tried running as admin but nothing seems to work.

Hi, is perhaps a virusscanner removing that file ?

it should be in the bin folder in the game files.
if it is missing it can be restored by verifying the files https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

In the game files, in the bin folder, is the CefSharep.Core.dll there ?
Mirai o' Mirai Oct 22, 2020 @ 8:01am
Yes it is. This genuinely confusing and frustrating. I actually would like to play this game because it looks pretty fun, but so far the only play time I've had is trying to get it to run.

If you click on Staxel.Client.Dotnet.exe in the game files, does it run ?
Mirai o' Mirai Oct 22, 2020 @ 8:09am
It does not. It seems to give the same error as trying to run it through steam too

Could you screen shot the properties on the CefSharp.Core.dll too, to see if the size and such matches with what we're expecting

Perhaps one of the redistributables isn't installed correctly, you can find them here https://launcher.playstaxel.com/StaxelRedistributables.exe

I'm not too sure what you mean by that but I took a screenshot to show it's in the file bin

Also when it brings up the issue it has an option to fix it and it seems like it redownloads something but it doesn't fix anything. But I'll check out those links you sent

Okay that seemed to fix it. Thank you for your help. Hopefully no other issues occur
