steam link with xbox controller

so iv tried running this via steam link with the wireless xbox one controller, however it seems stuck in the background on the steam link menu as i can hear the sounds of that over the game when i try pressing a directional button while on the game screen it says controller available...any solutions?

Just to confirm, your controller works fine on other games right?

yea absoloutely fine just it doesnt seem to come off the steam link menu an stays stuck in the background when trying to play this with it

tried disabling the controller in the game options..still the same

A few things you can try:

plug the controller in, start the game, open the options menu, or start the game, plug the controller in, open the options menu. or test that the controller works ok for staxel without steam link as well

i dunno what happened but an update or two later and this issue magically vanished for me

I actually figured it out last night as well!
Had to launch the Steam Link, Go into Steam's Controller Settings, Check the "Enable Generic Controllers" box, and then go click Staxel, click "Manage Game", found controller options in there, and it then was recognizing my controller, and allowed me to play Staxel on my TV!!!
Which was Great by the way!!!
