Secret Room/Treasure Chest

So...this may contain spoiler, but i found a secret room under Oscars House. Like, you dig beside the house under it and find a room with torches and a single, huge Treasure Chest.
I can't seem to open the chest itself, just take it with a hammer. Selling brings only 600 Petals.

My question is now:
Is there any other reason behind this secret room? (like, something more hidden,triggering a quest, or..?)
And can i really do 'nothing' with that chest besides putting it as decoration or selling it? :D

Have you tried using one of the rusted keys you can get from fishing?

Alright, the keys don't do anything.
Means, the possibility is high that the chest is just...a chest, without any special meaning behind.
How sad.. :/

Oscars basement is not the only secret room in town. But it is the most intresting. But as far as I can tell it is just that a chest decoration that sells for 600.
