Need multiplayer help (Hamachi)!

Hello!

Currently, me and a friend are trying to play multiplayer. We are using Hamachi since neither of us can do port forwarding. We have everything set up, but everytime one or the other hosts and connects, it says "loading" for a minute before forcing us back to the main menu with the error "an exsisting connection was forcibly closed by the remote host".

Is there an extra step we gotta do before we are able to connect?
I'm not finding much information on this, and i've already followed the guide at

Tried connecting again after friend got their farming license, and now the error i get is..

"A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond adter a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond"

Clearly, we are doing something wrong, but what? D: We can't figure it out!

People still use hamachi? And not just open some ports lolz

it could be that the firewall is blocking you. try disabling that, as it can be quite iffy to deal with. always worked for us back in our minecraft days

Not everyone has a modem that isnt a complete piece of poo. My ISP modem is so crappy. Believe me, ive tried to open ports on it but does nothing. Even followed my ISPs guide on how to port forward and it STILL doesnt work. Whoever made their modems needs to get fired.

Anyways. I did turn off my firewalls to the point hamachi would say my inbound traffic status is OK. Still cant have my friend connect to me ):

Did you try using steam networks?

Wait what, playing with steams network works? No portforwarding? People made it seem like this game didn't yet allow for games to be hosted with steams network, that's why i was dealing with the whole Hamachi hubba baloo. Going to try this when able.
