Chickens and chicken coops?

I have three coops and I had two chickens, and one rooster. One chicken stopped laying eggs and the rooster was useless so I sold the useless chicken and rooster. Now when I try to buy more chickens(i still have 3 coops) it tells me to build more coops.. Is this a glitch or I am just doing something wrong??

Check your coop sign and make sure you meet the requirments. I was having the same issue till I moved my sign like one tile to the left.

Your comment helped, so thank you and I'll explain why just in case someone has the same problem.

The game never required me to have any sign or requirements to buy any animal. Skip ahead and I started to have this issue so I bought the chicken sign days ago thinking that was the issue. I was sorta right. After reading Qtip's response I realized the sign I bought days ago never said anything about requirements so I RE-BOUGHT the chicken coop sign, the game said chicken coop unlocked and BAM requirements. Plopped it with my coops and I am able to buy chickens again!
