The Lego Marvel Super-heroes from 2014 was an original story utilising the comics - therefore they could use the full character roster.
There is a "Season Pass" on sale but there's no infomation as of yet to what it will include.
I don't think Stan Lee has Spider-Man abilities this time around like he did in Lego Marvel Super-Heroes. Instead he's a Speedster, don an Iron Man suit, climb into a "Hulkbuster" (Stanbuster?) suit, and Hulk-Out.
I don't think that is all. Because in the game there is a good amount of characters that are not on any movie. The thing is they don't want to increase the popularity of the characters that are with Fox. But I believe that we'll have an Civil War Spider Man, and eventually I hope for Spider men from the spider verse. Specifically Miles Morales and Spider Gwen. Because these are characters that are working very well on the comics.
Spider man probably wasn't inserted on the beggining of the game because the agreements with Sony wasn't final when the game was in development. But he shall come.
