They are available since the first time You go into Manhattan, but they won't show up on the radar before You finish the whole story mode.

No, unfortunately there aren't any. Basically the vehicles are only an addition to this game and they are much slower than in Lego Marvel Super Heroes. But they are really cool for the free play :)
ok, that's silly, also I prefer the map/radar from superheroes
