No. Maybe as good. Not better. It feels a little tired and uninspired.

Not as different tbh. Essentially the same without much of the improvement I'd hoped for.
There's far fewer actual char variations - no X-men, no Fantastic 4, no Spider-man, no Deadpool which is a big shame.

So they have like a dozen variations of Tony Stark/Ironman which is annoying.

Manhattan is the exact same and there's no day/night cycle at all. Random crimes are the same again and again.

The other hub worlds are quite small and not really that spectacular.

I'd recommend buying both LMSH and LMA - these Marvel games are the best in the whole Lego series - LMSH is the best. No other Lego game even comes close to the awesomeness of these Marvel iterations.

You'll get more fun out of Lego Marvel's Super Heroes. That one had mostly original stories and used characters from all over Marvel. This Avengers game just recycles a lot of audio from the movies, has little new storylines and completely ignores whole sections of Marvel like the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises. This new game is just lazy

While it ignores x-men and spidey, it includes many characters that would be otherwise missing, such as the casts of "Avengers Academy," "Avengers Initiative," "Young Avengers," and many more. If your a comic fan such as I, the roster is full of recognizable and fun characters.

Mabye there will come some dlc for the game, so Deadpool will be a character. But I dont think that X-men, Fantastic 4 or Spider-Man will come. They was in the super heroes game. But as the name is for the game, Avengers. So it will not come as a surprice if there only was the Avengers.

I find the Avengers game fun, at the first. After you have done the main story, I find it as a big job, to find all the hidden gold briks and characters. But it is fun. If you like the marvel superheroes, you sould buy marvel super heroes, there you will get all the super heroes. But if you mostly like the Avengers team, and play as some of the SHIELD agents, you sould buy the Avengers.

So overall, if you like to play as Avengers og play the movies buy Lego Marvel Avengers. Or if you like the costom historys/gameplay, buy Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

That's because they're using the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the base game. They can't use characters that are under different contracts. And because of that, a lot of them are minor characters from the movies. I would agree that the game just isn't as enjoyable as Marvel's Super Heroes. However, I do like that many of the characters have their own unique stances and movements. The "hold jump to fly or jump high" feature is pretty awesome as well.

Lego Marvel was alot more fun in my experience, Avengers' being limited to just the Avengers (and the Young Avengers, which I'm not familiar with myself) kind-of restraints everything a lot. The fun of Lego Marvel superheroes is that it goes all out with all the well-known Marvel super heroes, and most of the villains. There's a strong-MCU influence in that game as well, with every character that appears in the Marvel films up to Dark World-abouts being based on their MCU appearances.

Aside form a shameful lack of Spider-woman, who was a very porminent Avenger... it's really good.

Far as controls are concerned, Lego Avengers is the game Lego Marvel wishes it was.
