To get the game to trigger a game save, just complete a story level or free play level. Avengers includes a lot of sandbox options in a few city locations: Manhattan, Malibu, South Africa, and Asgard. When you roam around these locations picking up studs, if you want to trigger a save you need to complete one of the special locations: get gold brick, character token, save Stan Lee, etc. These locations are highlighted in your 'radar' as green, yellow, purple little points. After you finish one of those it will trigger a game save.
It should be easy to test. Just spawn in Manhattan and find the closest interactive location. Get the item (character token, gold brick, free Stan Lee) and give the game a second. Then when you exit your save should be updated. Now the percent may still show 0.1% or it could be even 0.0% (lots of collectables in this game). Check to see if the item you just collected is showing up in the stats when the game is paused. Be sure to check the top of the screen for character token count.
One thing I like to do is fly around and collect a bunch of studs with multipliers on, then drop down and collect some item (character token, gold brick, etc) before exiting the game.
As I write this there is one time you can save directly. When replaying a story level in Free Play and you pause the game, you can select 'save and exit' from the menu.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, the game does not save even if I complete a story level. I played with my son for one whole hour today and we made plenty progress. When I look at the save game slot, it says 0% progress. When I load the slot, it starts at the beginning again.
Does anyone else have an idea why my game might not save?
Thanks! Joe
I hope this works out for you!
