Couch co-op with online friends

Out of curiosity, will this game support the ability for 2 or 3 peeps to play online with other people? I know a few steam games support this, like games like rocket league where it gives the other players the username of the main account but with a -2 and -3. I do remember the xbox version doing this as well and was wondering if that will roll over with the steam version.

I'm pretty sure there will be local co-op. If I'm not wrong it's a direct port from 360 with minor changes.

He's asking if local cooperators can join up with online players simultaneously.
e.g 2 players on one machine connecting online with another player.

local coop seems to work but online local does not seem to. it hink this is because if you stick a second controller in your PC it will still use your main account online so it wont work. i could be wrong though.
