UTOPIA 9 - A Volatile Vacation

Crash on start up
After purchasing and installing the game the very first time I started the game up it crashed. I tried again and the game started up no problem and I haven't had a single crash while actually playing the game. But now whenever I feel like playing the game it's like a crapshoot wether the game is gunna start or just crash right away, it's pretty much 50/50.

The laptop I'm playing on is below the recommended specs but I just took a chance because the game was calling me :) With the graphic quality set to mediocre I get between 30-50 fps so it's not to bad.

The crashes may have something to do with my integrated HD graphics card. From the research I've done in the past HD cards seem like they cause problems more often than not.

Anyway here's some of my specs, hope some of this helps. :)

Windows 8 (64bit) 1366x768, Intel i5-4200U @ 1.60GHz, HD 4400 graphics card, 8 gb RAM

Just let me know if you need anymore info, thanks.

Hey! I'm glad to hear you got the game running, despite the low system specs, and thank you for the bug report. I'd recommend updating the drivers for graphics card and for your system in general. However, as you say, the integrated HD cards are not top of the line, and I suspect their drivers may not be either, so you may risk making it worse by upgrading. The fact that the game is only crashing on startup, is unfortunate, but at least it doesn't crash while playing...

Regardless, I'd like to get my hands on a log files following a crash. You can find more information on how to retrieve one in this topic: http://steamcommunity.com/app/405000/discussions/1/371918937259043673/

If you find a solution please share it here so other players experiencing the same or similar problems can learn from it :-)

Ok I will try and make sure all my drivers are up to date and once they are I'll let you know if the problem persists and try and get you that log file.

Btw is "Rune" your name in real life? Cause if so that's pretty awesome. :owhero:

Thanks!

And yes, my real name is Rune. It's not that uncommon here in Denmark actually. The meaning is the same as in english although the pronounciation is somewhat different :-)
