The tutorial says "Good timing is when your foot hits the ground underneath your body."

If you press too late, your foot hits the ground in front of your body and that makes you jump. This is also explained in the tutorial:
"to take off, push off the ground with your foot ahead of your body."

You will do it. I believe in you :)

The game is a mind play,

it is natural to want to press the key as your foot hits the ground,
but by doing this you place the power of the foot to push you up,
where you need the power to be pushing behind you as you foot moves back in order to move forward,

OH and something I left out, I can only run by luck, I cannot get out of the habit of pressing as my foot moves forward, Looks like I will be jumpimg and hopping for some time.good luck.

Jesus I did it! I just completed level 14 of the 30m run, thanks you both!

Yeah, it is too much bouncing... It is too hard to check this moment when I need to press next button...

I did it, the strategy is to release the arrow a moment before it hits underneath you, just alternate quickly the legs at the beggining and you should start getting the hang of it.

Believe me, the problem is always in the beggining where you get to avoid bouncing by tapping the ground.

"release the arrow a moment before it hits underneath you"
i don't really understand what this means, what does hit underneath you, arrows are only buttons on the keyboard, they can't "hit" .-.
could someone explain?

and, the strategy to hit the foot when it's under your body doesn't help because:
- still, you bounce, but just a little bit less.
- it's hard to time.
- it's hard to keep it as well.
- it's hard to jump over a hurdle when you somehow keep it.

If you still bounce then wait a little more before pressing the key.
Yes it's hard, of course, you have to earn the victory! :)

I was about to give up on this until i noticed something that might not be obvious from previous info if you are struggling (or maybe everyone knows except me): There should be (very very short but still) time between left/right button presses. For a long time I alternated right-left without leaving time between them but as soon as i changed i got alot better at starting but also at recovering from bounces. It is slightly counterintuitive but it "works" (i still suck, but i suck less) for me.

Yes, I thought it was obvious as you can notice it in the tutorial, but maybe lots of players don't see that...

Tutorial is not overly helpfull in itself, maybe at the end of it you would get to run like 30m and then get comments during replay like "at this point you released to soon/late"

Sometimes I do what I call a quick-step to avoid or recover from bouncing. It's just a fast 1-2 to get my characters trajectory on a more level plane. I only leave a gap between legs for like the first two or three steps, try to get level, then find a groove and go straight back and forth between legs with no gap. My eye focuses on my runners hip once I get to a full sprint.
