Version Control Metadata w/ Mercurial?
I assume I should select the "none" option when creating a new project and have Mercurial handle the metadata by itself?

AIUI, there's no "handling" of version control metadata as such. When selecting this option as Git, it just creates a default .gitignore file.

So for Mercurial you could either choose "none" and create the hg ignore file yourself, or choose "git" to generate the Godot-suggested list of ignores, and manually convert that file to something hg likes better.
