Not sure right now but I got issues with the Steam Overlay as well. Is there a way for us to disable on our side?

There is! Right click Godot in the library, select "Properties", make sure you're looking at the "General" tab -- there's a checkbox there to enable the overlay.

This should be a pinned comment. The steam version is gdscript only, and the built-in script editor features Shift-Tab as a shortcut for unindenting large sections of code (pretty important since it is whitespace-based). With the default settings, this causes Steam to pop up the overlay every time to try to remove an `if`.

Just wanted to continue discussion as I have steam overlay disabled in properties (disabled by default - can't even be changed), but the steam overlay still pops up with Shift+Tab.

Same here. And couldn't find a solution yet.

I figured it out. You need to enable Steam Overlay in Steam's settings. After that you can disable it in properties of Godot.

Would've never figured this out on my own, thank you. The weird part is that the Steam overlay _is_ enabled in every game even with this option turned off..

ugh. can't enable (already disabled, inactive) steam overlay in steam properties.

As the two comments immediately previous to yours stated, you have to first enable the Steam overlay in the main Steam window, and then you can disable it in Godot.

It's hacky and feels like jank... but it's a Steam problem, not a Godot problem.
