@devs: an upgrade really shouldn't be changing my preferences.
Edit: That being said, when the internationalisation was added I proposed to have the language selectable directly from the project manager, I'll try to push for it a bit more.
If you are in Steam > Settings > Interface: Select the language you wish Steam to use
you can change the steam language wich will usually be the language that softwares and games will use when downloaded via steam. I know a lot of smaller games that ignore that preference.
also when you right-click on the game in the library
LIBRARY > Preferences... > Language
some games have the option for you to choose the language outside.
I think steam software should be able to:
1. keep your steam preference
2. have the language changable in steam.
those are not too importan features.
but it bugged me that I have to switch the language
