Is that engine good for 3D games?
Hey, i've been using another engine ( CTF 2.5 ) for making 2D projects and multimedia apps
However I want to start getting into 3D

All I might want is easy to use interface and just make my ideas fast so is that engine ideal for it?

Hmmm ok then, I will stick with Unity for 3D

you can certainly use this engine for 3d games
here's a 3d game made in Godot: Human Diaspora
you can also checkout the Godot Showcase[godotengine.org] and see what's there.

If you're looking for getting stuff done as fast as possible, Godot is the way to go, unity stinks when it comes to the speed at which you can make something functional due to a fairly horrible UI.. Only thing that unity has going for it atm is better graphics, something that Godot will soon be much more capable of matching once 4.0 is out.

Nice thanks for the replies, I think I will give godot a chance and by the way my drawing art style is cartoony ( like how my profile pic looks ) so I think I won't need super advanced graphics

Godot's 3D capabilities are quite good already and as SoundDriver has written they will be even better soon. I've only worked with 3D in Godot so far and am very happy overall.

If you have never worked with Godot before, I suggest looking into the Getting Started - Step by Step[docs.godotengine.org] chapter of Godot's documentation.

Thanks for letting me know about this, it's funny how I just was starting to find starter guides for the engine xD

it really depends what you want out of it. If you are trying to make something look AAA quality, you are better off with other engines. But I've seen a few really cool 3d games made with Godot. I'm currently making a Doom style fps which is 3D, even if all the characters and weapons are sprites.

If you go for AAA, wait for godot 4and see what that can do, if you go for something that is not photorealistic, then Godot is a decent choice.

Right now I'm working on a full 3D shooter (no sprites standing in for 3D objects) and it is working quite well on mobile so far.
