Crash on startup?
When I try to launch the game it crashes while it's loading, before reaching the menu.
I have checked the file integrity with Steam, and downloaded the latest drivers.

My system should meet the minimum requirements (albeit narrowly):
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 GHz
4GB RAM
GTX 260M
Plenty of room in the HDD
Windows 7 64 bit

Any ideas on how to help the game run? I'm downloading the original version now, to see if I can at least play that one...

Any help would be dearly welcome! :)

Hmm... Are your Drivers up-to-date? Does the game produce any crash report as a result of its failure to launch? Have you checked the Windows Logs in Event Viewer (Control Panel/Administrative Tools) to see if there is anything to shed some light on your issues?

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Yes, the drivers are up to date (I re-checked them yesterday). I also checked the known issues thread before posting this, I'm not running any other programs that might cause an issue.

Windows just says "WL2.exe has stopped working", the logs seem to show a conflict with ntdll.dll, which tells me nothing at all (everything else in Windows is working, so it must be a clash caused by the game itself, not a problem with the hardware or the OS itself):

Any more ideas?

Edit: I forgot to add that the other version of the game (not Director's Cut) does seem to be running, or at least it starts up (I haven't been able to play it yet).

Same problem bro,
Wasteland was running smooth, and I downloaded DC.
I just updated system, and drivers.... and nothing, still won't run

I'm going to try and post the problem directly on the inXile support page... I'll let you know if I find out anything!

Thank you, customer support (a really helpful guy called Eric) suggested that I do exactly that, to force the game to run in DirectX 9, as my graphics card is rather old and unable to handle DX11 properly, it seems. His detailed instructions were:

1. Go to your Steam Library
2. Find Wasteland 2 and right-click it, then select "Properties"
3. Under the General Tab, click "Set Launch Options" and a dialog box will appear
4. Type in "-force-d3d9" (without the quotes) and click "OK"
5. Close the Properties window

He did warn me that it might cause some graphical glitches, but at least I can play the game! :)
