Broken weapon parts & cash
Hi Rangers,

So I'm wondering - does everyone strip EVERY unwanted weapon they find for broken weapon parts to sell to Nelson in the Citadel gun cage ?

Say I have a gun worth $100 scrap if I sell it direct - and then compare that to say 75 scrap I get if I strip it (average return seems to be 5 broken weapon parts). I'm just wasting my time by not just directly vendoring the whole gun itself.

I know I can get upgrades from breaking down weapons but after you've upgraded everything there is not real use for more upgrades and they are usually worth less than the return on direct vendor selling or breaking down to parts.

Opinions pls ?

The number of parts depends on your weaponsmithing skill, the higher your skill the more parts you get. For the cheap weapons, it's worthwhile to break them down and sell them. You should carry the more expensive ones. The other factor is that broken down weapons wiegh less (most of the time), so you can break them down to avoid encumbrance.

The weapons are generally heavier, so I tend to strip everything, at least in AZ.

In AZ yeah I do, in CA I either save and sell (guns are worth 300-600 scrap) or strip if they have a part Im trying to get (tactical scope, laser sight)

I scrap most weapons worth <$110, and try to hold onto the ones worth more. When encumberance becomes an issue, I start scrapping everything. Of course sometimes I'm without a vendor for so long I have 3+ stacks of broken parts going and I need to start spreading them out between characters.
