you open them using the computer in the centre, select which doors you want to open, and go the way you chose
you can only open one direction at a time I think
if that isn't it, I know for a fact that there is a chest in a corner, use alt (I think) to highlight items and characters you can select/loot
there should be keycards in there to open any doors the terminal won't open
Once inside you can either brute force the wall. or computer science or mechanical repair on the piece of equipment.
you can try attacking the wall without brute force, regular attacks pass alot of early brute force checks, and later on explosives pass alot of other brute force checks. if theres a door in your way, lob a stick of TNT at it. see if that clears things up. not like I'm short of explosives since I recover some % from traps.
the other way is not the way of the morgue, you have to lock pick the door, then shut off a fan, then brute force the other door to close the air lock then do a regular attack at the last fan then turn on all the fans.
There might be a misunderstanding here.
I have hacked the computer to open all doors, and I cleared the cave and the east field.
Now I'm trying to get to the west field but I'm stuck not at the airlock door. Rather, when you open the first door (the one in the rom with the computer), there is a short hallway with a door blocking passage and one overgrown with vines.
The door with the vines leads to a room with a bunch of corpses, that one I could open just fine. The other door is the one I can't open except for an 11% chance to brute force it.
I've seen in a "let's play" that the safe in the computer room has a key card, but I can't open the safe. Guns are ineffective on the door that I'm stuck at and I don't have any tnt (I used the one I found in a fight).
I can't interact with any wall, yet. The robot thingie is behind that door. And I don't see any way other than savescumming that 11% chance to get through atm.
I'm having this problem now. I can't get through the western door. I've cleared the cave and eastern area / boss area as well.
There is a robot you can repair to ram the vines. I think rose (or anyone else with the computer skill) can hack it also, but it's been a while so don't quote me on that.
You can also knock down walls and open safes with explosives, "if at first you don't succeed, blow s**t up!". Save the rockets for the killer robots. Also the other side of the wall is full of more enemys, just a heads up. Blowing up crates like this will offen blow up what was inside the crate btw.
There is a safe on the far wall from the doorway into the room, it's on a box not the floor.
And just incase, in the mushroom caves in the wall that would be on your left as you enter it down near the mushrooms themselves there is a cave entrance in the wall (a cave in a cave, caveseption!). Very easy to miss. It has three rooms in there with some good stuff in them.
explosives have a penetration of 10 or higher depending on the explosive, and you just need to have more penetration than the object has armor.
been a while but I would have tried to have angela whack it with her wrench.
I also sorta hit Rail Nomad Prior to doing the radio tower, just to pick up Ralphy, Scotchmo and a bunch of items lying around in the first area.
I know explosive works, unsure if a basic weapons fire works.
- NO, the west access card is nowhere to be found.
- NO, using computer science on anything doesn't work. I understand Rose is supposed to be able to open that through the mainframe, but duue to a bug that seems to afflict a lot of player, she isn't.
- NO, using "Alarm Disarm" on the shut door does NOT work (anymore?). All you get is an "invalid target".
The only solution is to blow the door up with a rocket launcher. If you have explored the mushroom cave you should have one. Another one is in the Eastern field, in one of the crates that you can find if you explore everything.
It is really sad that they haven't taken this issue seriously. I am sure a lot of people stopped playing here after getting frustrated and only finding solutions that did not really work.
Blow it up. Not sure what's the name of the rocket launcher (it's not "rocket launcher"), it just looks like a deformed gun. One hit and the door should be open.
Get your stuff together, inXile.
the card is in the chest over there I tihnk its locked with safecracking.
...not sure there are alot of people who have this issue. just the ones who apparently can't pass any of the provided checks.
considering it gives you rose and angela who can pass the checks.
just buy a stick of TNT.
And why blasting doown the dooor is the only way. Just where is the TNT, where is the pipe bomb? Not sure if the game generates loot randomly, but I did not have any tnt or pipe bomb until much later. The only way for me to blast the door was The Mangler which is a rocket launcher.
I can try and ask again: "where do you think is the card supposed to be?" or "what safe?" but me and all the other ones with this issue have been there and you don't seem to want to acknowledge that there is an issue with this step. Luckily not a gamebreaking one, but clearly a majorly annoying one.
you also start with 2 pipe bombs if you have at least 1 point in heavy weapons.
also random raider lobbers drop TNT.
also with improvised explosives perk you get pipe bombs from disarming mine fields.
but yeah, its not a bug to fail when you built your guys wrong.
Game design if you fail Ag and highpool it sends you to rail nomad, you don't *NEED* to go thru that door at all.
