the PE skill has a toggle (usually in your hotkey bar) which really should always be on but for some reason is not.
It doesn't come with any penalty to have on all the time. so go ahead and turn it on, and there will be a detection circle around him for detecting purposes.
I really love this game, but this was kinda confusing. I would still run into every mine without this getting pointed out ^^
But yeah, it was that much harder to play because I had to keep toggling different people and in single character mode and move trinkets around (you'll find some that help with perception or demolitions or just beating things to a pulp in general or evading getting shot, etc).
It seemed that the strategy behind character builds differed from my initial approach, but then... by the time I won the game, my skills were as such to be to use my puny fists beat honey badgers to the degree they were so numb they didn't care.
