This is my first playthrough and I was wondering if there is an area in los angeles that has easy enemies for some xp to take on the big boys.

leather jerks are comparatively easier than say the CotC which is why the game sort of leads you to there.

the mannerites and robbinsons are easier than the Bastion of faith people. who are easier than the children of the cathedral. and synth. the dogs you fight in the first bit you NEVER see again.

apparently they show up to eat your support, then you kill them all, the end.

but yeah wander around the map after you clear out the leather jerks and you'll fight them. having maxed outdoorsman helps avoid other encounter types.

Alright thanks I've already cleared out the leather jerks and I tried to go to Santa Monica but I got butt raped right away but thank you.

after you clean them out they appear as random encounters on the map.
There is a sudden jump in difficultly level from Arizona to California. Aside from the Leather Jerks, who are pushovers, everyone else is pretty much the same enemy with different names.

If you go into the Wasteland and circle Rodia over and over, the random encounters you pick up should usually be Leather Jerks. That is going to get tedious quickly, though. You are better off to just keep following the plot and taking it on the chin now. With some key weapons and armor upgrades, you'll catch up to the power level pretty quickly.

you get 360 per encounter back in AZ. I went to LA pretty big, around level 30. but you still need to upgrade your guns to better PEN asap.

not sure his team or his loadout.

I have 5 team members each are either level 26-27 and only one has a weapon that is not either in hundreds range or close.
