Combat speed?
How does it work. Iknow you start earlier in the sequence of the battles. But is it like round for round and the combat sequence is reset for every round. or do they just keep rolling.
Like i have seen some enemies act like two times before one of my chars has acted once. Does this mean that with higher combat speed that i can act more often? or will it just place me a bit higher in every turn? thanks

Not a bad question, I would assume it is used to base initiative on, who goes first and in an earlier order, and yes I can see that it would allow a supplemental turn in advance of a slower enemy. Speed is what it is referred to in Divinity Original Sin 2 and that is it's purpose and that game appears to be such a "copycat" of this system's foundations.

Also there is a Combat Speed option under Gameplay. This is to speed up combat animations and has no effect on player stats that would allow them to have better initiatives.

Actually, I just began this game. Completed Bards Tale IV and made it my first priority to get this game and play it, which I did and am doing, got it in a trade - it is worth way more than trade bait!
Well if you like this game you should love fallout 2.
Yeah but i wish i knew if that was the case. if higher combat speed could yield another turn if the difference between the enemies were big enough.

Naw thats ok, I missed the Fallout bus and I'm not too disappointed. This game here is enough of that nuclear refuge/post apocalyptic/mutant charm. :killthemutant:
Well to be fair. Wasteland is the father of fallout 1 and 2. same creators.
Its just that the rights to fallout were sold to bethesda. So they cant work on that title and thats why they took up wasteland again and made the second.

and that is such a cool story, I only got Fallout 3 because I really liked Oblivion, but I missed 1 and 2 because I had consoles back then. They had a Brotherhood of steel game for xbox though. , missed that too.
This game here, so far so good, no need to patch or fiddle with resolutions, and damn sure is intuitive and progressively gets better..

Combat speed is how far your character can move per action point. Higher combat speed means you can move further about the map.

Combat initiative is how and when you are able to make a move in a battle. The higher your initiative the more you can do in a fight, and the quicker you get another turn to do something. Any full combat character you want high initiative. Support characters don't really need much.

So, combat speed is very important to melee/unarmed characters, and to some degree shorter range weapons like shotguns, smgs, heavy weapons. Combat speed isn't super important to sniper or assault rifle characters because they can shoot long ranges anyway and don't need to move around much.

thanks man
