DC Highpool - elections for Kate Preston
Playing W2 Directors Cut.
Trying to complete the Highpool quest and get Kate Preston elected as mayor.

So far I have (in that order)
- helped the townies kill the wreckers at the entrance to Highpool
- returned the stone to the hippy from the dog
- returned the lost dog to its owner
- rescued Vultures Cry, I know this angers the townsfolk....
- solved the underground water valve quest

(( at this point when I emerged from the underground, an election was underway and it was a 50-50 deadlock))

- healed all 6 patients in Dr Warners clinic

I kissed ass with Sean Bergin and he said the Rangers were doing a good job, but I don't know what else I have to do, and I can't find Kate Preston anywhere?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I am not sure if I did this in the right order but it would suck if the order were all that important as it did not seem obvious while playing the game!
I have also attached the repeater to the radio tower, for what it's worth....

Thanks for any suggestions!

I forgot to add, I did not do the quest to save the girl whose dowry is being robbed by some people yet.... do I have to do this? And how do I trigger another election, and where is Kate - presumably she is no longer in the underground control room by this point!

Maybe you needed to get Vulture's Cry out of jail by talking to Bergin with Kiss 'Bottom' skill to keep the townsfolk from getting angry? Did you also put a valve onto some machinery to pour water on a burning house? That counts as well. I'm pretty sure there's only one election though? Or did someone say there would be a re-election at some point? I think you have to get all the good deeds done before returning from fixing the water plant.

Salutations, So when you go talk to Kate Preston in the irrigation tunnels she says that the three priorities are 1) fixing the irrigation, 2) clean outthe wreckers base, and 3) I forget the third one. Anyways As soon as I fixed the irrigation they held an election and she won, even before i went to deal with the wreckers base.

I get the impression that since the sean bergin wants to prioritize killing the base, and kate wants you to fix the irrigation first, that whichever you do first determins the leader that is elected.

Apologies. I also forgot that I have saved the house from being burned down.
The one thing I did wrong was to free Vulture's Cry by breaking her out of her cage instead of Kissing Ass with Bergin.
I still haven't helped the woman out in the house where some raiders or wreckers are stealing her dowry - would that help?
Just wondering if I've done something irredeemably wrong or if I can still salvage the quest now....

Duh. OK I found Kate Preston. She was hanging around the election area, just outside the entrance to the underground tunnels. I spoke to her, we had another election and Kate is now the mayor. Quest done! Thanks for all your help.
