How Many Recruits Can I Take to Califronia?
Hi, I'm planning on doing a singleton run and use the 3 "special recruits", as I like the looks of them. Is it true I can only take 3 recruits to California though? Does that mean I won't be able to take any recruits with me if these 3 already take up all the slots?

How involved are they in the story? And in your opinions which recruit(s) have the most interesting storyline(s)? Thanks.

What do you mean by singleton run? A single ranger, and the three backup ones? Either way, if I remember correctly, you can take whoever is in your squad and two extra people. None of the companions really have a role in the story aside from any quest or location through which you acquired them. A few of them have a different ending, but you will understand why as the story goes on, don't want to spoil it for you.

Singleton run = initial squad of one.

From the official wiki: "The player can take three recruits of their choice with them to California."

Does that mean your squad +3, or just your CREATED characters +3 NPCs?

My experience was pre-DC, but in that case it must be your squad and three extra, because I remember having some leftover companions that I never used straight from AZ.

yeah you take your squad of 7, and you can ALSO take on top of that 3 more rangers, which since AZ generally has

pizepi,
Scotchmo,
lex,
Rose/vulture's cry,
Tatsuki,
Ralphy
End of Titan NPC one of three.
Chisel.

thats 8 guys. 3 are in your party. 1 I don't get because titan canyon. so you are just leaving behind one or two guys.

But if you don't level them up they aren't too useful anyways. except maybe Ralphy for toaster repair if you wanted to micro that.

But yeah. as a singleton run. Rose has the most interesting story. the other NPC... well scotchmo has a minor quest related things near rail nomad, Ralphy has some quests. but the guys have 'personality' not really story. Pistol Pete has some story.

I.E. they occasionally say things.

Well, it's already been said, but the rule is that you can take 10 total people with you to California, including however many squad members you started with and those in your squad.

So for your "singleton" run, you have to take yourself, but you may bring up to 9 other people, which if I recall correctly, you can't get that many in AZ.

on a singleton run he's allowed the 3 rangers outside ranger citadel. isn't he?

As far as commenting on things goes, I find Pizepi to be the most amusing/talkative of the companions when you go to LA.
