Chance to hit trinkets

Hey guys have a question. I have two different trinkets that offer a % to hit bonus. For example I have the
"shaft of prayer" which offers -2 co-ordination, +5% chance to hit, +3% critical chance.

I also have the "aviators" trinket that offers -1 awareness, +5% chance to hit.

What I am confused about is the +% chance to hit. When a trinket is equipped I don't notice any change in the weapons chance to hit score. Apart from the "shaft of prayer" which drops the score 2% due to -2 co-ordination. I don't understand where the +5% chance to hit improvement is. Am I missing something or not understanding a certain aspect of the game. Or is it just some bug.
Any light shed would be great thanks.

Dunno. Not a trinket I would wear. losing one initiative for 5% chance to hit or 1 AP for 3% chance to hit and 3% chance to crit didn't seem worth wearing. I'll have to test.

trinkets I generally keep around to pass skill checks, the combat ones I wear are:
Pair of engagement rings
Luminox watch
Inverted four-leaf clover
Choice
Anarchy patch
Air jordans

The % chance to hit only works outside of combat ? In that case they are really not worth using at all. What a complete waste of a trinket. This is my first play through i've not even come across the items you've listed yet.

No. but I can't take things off and put them back on inside of combat to note the difference.

Wait I'm with it. Been a long day. Apologies. Chance to hit does go up, but doesn't directly show it on weapons in inventory. Geez, I need to get more sleep this weekend, brain fry.

I meant I targeted a junkie in Rail nomad camp. checked my accuracy with Ace's Wrench and Famas. then I equiped the aviators and checked my accuracy and it listed it as 5 points higher.
