Charisma and Luck
Are these still fairly useless? I mean, I get that Luck does add some bonus crit, so it's not all bad, but what about Charisma? Is it worth it to make 1 character high charisma, or all characters average charisma? Or is it worth just dumping altogether? I want the leader to, naturally, be a leadership focused character, and I'm just curious what a good charisma level is for that.

Also, the 3 speech skills; I probably shouldn't focus on all 3, I'm guessing? Not enough skill points? I'm guessing some characters will be more prone to accepting different tones.

Charisma also boosts all xp earned for that character, so if you have a high CHA leader as the face of the party not only will you leadership radius be larger, s/he will end up being a few levels higher than the rest of your party. I ran one playthrough like that and the leader (with high INT as well) easily maxed out all 3 speech skills, one weapon skill, with points to spare for other skills. Obviously this did not happen "overnight", but quick enough to keep pace with increasing checks to those skills.

they are probably the least useful yes.

Luck isn't too bad, its just Unreliable. it provides bonus AP occasionally, lucky crits, Bonus HP on level up, +1% chance to suceed on skill rolls per point.

Charisma is.... for leaders. it increases XP gain in a noticable way as well, but its mainly for leaders to have their leadership aura.

As mentioned the leaders generally go with 10 INT and 10 CHA and are turned into skillbots.

As for the spech skills, how dumb is your team? I normally go with like 4 INT except on my skill bot

The leader being a skill bot gets stuff like leadership, field medic, kiss ass. Weapon smithing.

Thick skinned, Heavy armor. I just stack armor on the leader. literally nothing can hurt it. 10 INT 10 CHA level up points go into strength. Nothing except energy and explosives touches it in AZ. in LA...It might take a little damage. sometimes. If I haven't managed to upgrade its armor.

Sniper. Perception, demolitions, Hard ass, Sniper rifles.

Assault Rifle 1. Safe cracking, lockpicking, Assault rifles, Outdoorsman
Assault Rifle 2. Alarm Disarming, Computer Science, assault rifles. Smartass

Eventually I try to give people 2 points in weaponsmithing for tinkerer, 1 point in surgeon so they can use surgical items and everyone can stop death. 4 points in Blunt for Charge! 5 points in computer science for the extra damage to robots.

Don't generally have an issue with 4 INT to have 4 skills. you have 7 party members.

Made a sample team last night. Went with brittle bones mostly because I didn't feel a disnumerology build was especially noob friendly.

Meaning when *I* tried it I didn't find it fun not leveling when I leveled up.

Anyways I started with this build. started out got the random pistol shotgun from the dude at the gate and vendored it. Looted the first place, picking up a 20-27 damage sniper rifle, got Angela Deth. Went off into the wastes.

Doing Ranger. Ran into some weak raiders, they really hurt, and my guys are like 60-70% chance to hit outside of cover.

Run into the first merchant who has some really expensive guns. I sell some stuff. and pick up the M16 assault rifle for 508 scrap. I hit the cache in the radiation. I find the merchant again.

Sell the cache stuff and grab some sniper and assault rifle ammo.

I turn back to ranger citadel, raiders harrassing me a few times.

I get level 2 and kinda run out of meds. which is bad. But I decided to rought it and grab the radiation suits.

I make my way to rail nomad camp thru the left side. looting the 2 cache on the way. Might want to start leader kun with 6 STR And 8 CHA so she could equip it. Meh.

Ran into to some nasty raiders near the first cache. got 2 19-26 assault rifles off them. Equiped one, the other I considered selling or giving to Ralphy.

Also got a stick of TNT. ran into a second group of raiders....smaller group. gave me a pistol. Hit the second cache. Moved to rail nomad camp.

Had angela save ralphy. lobbed the TNT at the breakable wall and had angela brute force the crate.

Rerolled saves a few times its got some nice stuff inside. I *think* I can get a M24 sniper.

Otherwise I'm getting a bullpup sniper rifle or H33 assault rifle from it. Or a combat knife or something if so inclined with your builds.

ideally though a hatchet or M24 is what I'm looking for.

So yeah. Charisma is a great stat, on one Ranger. Makes an excellent skillbot combined with INT.

Luck I expect among other things governs the chance of you shooting other rangers in the back. I'm shooting angela in the back alot with low luck. This goes away as you get more accurate. But it ate most of my early game healing supplies.

the run to Rail Nomads got me about 1000 bucks. which I came back and spent on meds and ammo. Also picked up Ralphy and Scotchmo.

I'm guessing I want to use Pizepi this run, Possibly could have done a different build considering this. Maybe try Way of the squeezins and Bladed on one of my rangers. Not really enough squeezins for more than one.

the +25% damage combined with a rocket launcher might be amazing vs some targets.

So I tried again. Leader should get Smart ass for radiant personality (I thought it was kiss ass) I'll probably give her both.

Gave her 6 STR so she can wear the armor in the waste to increase her armor to 7 in the early game. making her immune to pretty much anything 2-3 PEN.

Random weapon merchant didn't spawn until after I hit rail nomads this time so I could grab a Hatchet, M16 and M24.

also taking heavy weapons at the start gives you alot of extra assault rifle ammo, and 2 pipe bombs so for 2 starting points its the most money.

Haven't tried the boy on squeezins yet. aside from the huge speed penalty he seems OK without it for now. there are 4 squeezins from scotchmo. +12 from the bar +more from a kiss ass check of 4. and some in highpool. so we are saving highpool which is the best choice anyways.

anyways this second load out is much better.

Issue is the way of the squeezins squeezins is only 90 seconds.

not too much different than 2 pump chump since 2 rounds typically lasts 90 seconds except I have to devote some inventory to squeezins.

the bar in Rail Nomad apparently restocks squeezins, doesn't look like anywhere else does. and its a long walk from the bar to the exit grid.

Party is pretty dumb.

Decided to take Pizepi, Vulture's cry and Ralphy. Spent a long time with scotchmo in the party... being scotchmo.

After Prison, doing titan canyon

Party is currently:
Leader.
Skills Leadership, smart ass, Field Medic, Surgeon, Weaponsmithing. Mech Repair, Brute force
Sniper.
Sniper Rifles, Demolitions, Hardass. Was planning on eventually getting him perception but Pizepi starts with 6. +2 from a relic, so its very low priority.
Assault rifle
Computer science, Kiss ass, Assault rifle. 2 points in Alarm disarming for cyber scrounger ATM. not really mentioning it because everyone has 2 points in Weapon smithing for tinkerer.
Bladed,
Bladed weapons, Lockpicking, Safecracking,
Ralphy
Toaser Repair, Sniper Rifles
Vulture's cry
Sniper Rifles, animal husbandry, Outdoorsman.
Pizepi.
Energy weapons, Blunt weapons, Perception. She has 6 starting Smart ass. Which sounds nice, but you need 5 smartass for radiant personality, so your leader probably already has it.

So my bases are covered except Barter. which is worthless. Vultures cry should have some slots, i'll probably give her barter, just cuz.
