We just pushed a small update to fix some issues and to add more features for the new screensaver for the living room TV. If you have FPS issues with the carpets, check out the new carpet quality settings.

We hope you have fun with these new features.

Here are the full patch notes:

• Your save files are now backed up. The game keeps one backup of every save and puts it back automatically if the original cannot be read. If the game is killed mid-save, for example by a crash or a power cut, it now recovers the half-finished write instead of losing the file. This covers level saves, progress, settings, achievements and outfits.

• The game saves at more moments. The sandbox levels now saves when you quit, when the game loses focus, and when you open the pause menu, on top of the moments it already saved at. A short "Saving level" popup appears in center of the screen while it writes, so a pause is never a silent freeze.

• Object Snapping Distance, a new accessibility slider that replaces the Easy Magnetic Lock toggle. Slide from Near to Far to decide how close an object has to be before it snaps into place. The name came from you: we asked what to call this feature and this is where your answers pointed. Thank you.

• Wind Particle Transparency, a new accessibility slider. The speed lines that trail behind you at high velocity can now be faded out or hidden completely. Asked for by several of you, for the same reason the screen shake slider exists.

• Saving a level is about five times faster, down from over a second to roughly a quarter of a second. Large, heavily webbed levels benefit the most.

• The game now pauses before it saves, rather than carrying on for a moment while the file is written.

• The grand piano can play more notes at once, and the cooldown between them is shorter.

• Free look now works again in the sandbox levels. It was broken due to the latest changes.

• Fixed the spider sticking at an angle after landing on walls and ceilings.

• Fixed navigation in the accessibility settings panel.

• Fixed several main menu elements that had lost their selection sound.

• The field of view setting is now stored in degrees, so the value shown always matches the value used.

If you still encounter any of these bugs or you find new ones, please let us know.

- A Webbing Journey Team 🧡

To celebrate this, we’ve just released a big new update for A Webbing Journey, including the brand new Experimental Mode Settings that let you mess around with some wonderfully silly ways to play our game and as the name says, experiment with different settings too!

These settings are 100% experimental, so please enjoy them at your own risk haha. None of them are part of the core game and we’ve added them purely because we thought they’d be fun to play around with. They’re not balanced, they might break things, and that’s kind of the point! :)

If things get a little too chaotic, you can always switch back to the normal game settings.

• 👀 Camera Mode - You can now switch between the default mode, a camera that is tilting with Silky's body, or even play from Silky’s POV!

• 🦘 Variable Jump Height - tap for a small hop, hold to jump higher!

• 🦀 Crab Mode -  Silky’s body turns 90 degrees and you sidestep through the game!

• 🐛 Centipede Mode -  a body of up to 32 segments trails behind the spider. This is the most broken setting here. So, don't be surprised if your body is doing weird stuff. 😅

• 🏃 Preserve Landing Speed - Gone are the days you are just stuck when landing. With this setting Silky keeps the speed runs it off over the next couple of seconds, which let's you jump again to keep your momentum.

• ⚽ Swing Ricochet - Instead of landing on object while you swing, with this setting you now bounce off and continue swinging through the level. There are some extra sliders to tweak this setting to your liking.

The update also includes a ton of smaller improvements and fixes, including a new accessibility setting (Screen Shake and Easy Magnetic Lock), improvements to water, movement and animations, and loads of fixes across the different levels.

In total, this update contains way too many changes to list them all here, because we know that you want to jump in and try them out.

We hope you enjoy the update (please send us videos of your experiments!) and we can’t wait to show you what’s next for A Webbing Journey!

See you all soon!
