Local Co-Op?

Actually, I have two questions:

1) So from the look of it, in this game you run as a presidential candidate, right? So in Multiplayer, do two players each run as a seperate presidential candidate?

2) If so, is it possible to play this in local multiplayer, where me and my friend can run as two different candidates?. We do not always have access to multiple computers so sometimes we prefer to play games locally.

Yes, you play as the two presidential candidates, democrat and republican.

The multiplayer is done online in TPM.
