Questions about the game
It's unfortunate the game is getting such bad reviews. I typically play my PS4 and was looking forward to a loot ARPG. Van Helsing just came out a few weeks ago and I loved it. I wasn't the biggest fan of Diablo 3. But Van Helsing reminded me why I love the genre, the massive loot to play with.

Is this game really that shallow? There isn't much to loot (my favorite part)? I've read it's even scripted loot. Also the skill tree is linear and allows very little customization? Absolutely zero end game and lose your equipment on NG+?

I was really looking forward to one of these Diablo clones. I guess I'll just have to keep waiting. If this was $20 like Van Helsing I would pick it up.

Thanks!

Enjoying it more then I vanilla D3, PoE, or grim dawn I say go for it. Its got its flaws but ive already gotten my moneys worth without even finishing my first playthrough yet imo. Dont expect amazing end game.

well the game got nice maps to play on. Yet the items are kinda limited and most of them are useless. There is no Safe box to store your items to use for other characters.
Oh and one thing I don't understand is why they made the first map boss is the hardest. I am level 20 and playing on Valhalla and the game past that first map boss looked very easy.

The game is getting bad reviews, because of fundamental issues:

1. it is full of gamebreaking bugs:
1.1. can't buy/sell runes from the merchant
1.2. the trading menu force you to click milion times to make a trade
1.3. some items in your stash just disappear (important items, legendaries etc.)
1.4. your stash gets full of nowhere and in the same time you have nothing in it

2. it is full of absolute nonesence mechanics and ideas:
2.1. you lose everything after completing the game
2.2. there's no level cap
2.3. your hero has no class - he/she can play all the classes whenever he/she wants
2.4. the passives from your heroes don't stack, so you just switch between heroes
2.5. you have no map, everything is linear

3. the game is REALLY shallow because of:
3.1. no skill system - you have 5 active and 15 passive skills per class - that's it. You're not supposed to chose some of them to develop, you're forced to unlock them all, because of 2.2
3.2. all your future heroes will be exactrly the same (no build diversity at all)
3.3. there're no more than 25-30 legendary items (no item diversity at all)
3.4. the stats of the magic items are max 3 (no affix/prefix diversity at all)
3.5. so-called "extensive crafting system" is limited to 30 craftable items, lol! EXTENSIVE!

4. the price - 44 EU/USD - for this game is a crime

5. the lore and hero attitude:
5.1. everyone, repeat EVERYONE, can make an interesting story of using scandinavian mythology, so this is not too hard. Еven though this guys just made some flat and mediocre one.
5.2. your viking acts like american action hero, rambo wanna be, sylvester stallone arnold schwarzenegger chuck norris hell of a brainless beast, that single idea is to kill stuff!
Quest: enter the village and kill everything - people, monsters, building, wells, wagons, stones, trees, just annihilate the hole area!
THAT IS GREAT! But the temper of your viking is stupid as ♥♥♥♥! Some old witch tells you "we are in great danger, you have to go to the underworld and find..."and you say "DON'T GIVE A ♥♥♥♥ WHERE, I WANNA SMASH STUFF!"

C'mon, the vikings are harsh, but they're not redneck cowboys from austin, texas...

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the information. I think I'll wait for a sale, because the PS4 version is $59. But some of you gave me some faith I'll enjoy it. The loot and skills part is what kills me the most. That's the best part! Making your own builds ect. The end game always sounds important, but to be honest Diablo, Torchlight, Van Helsing, Sacred, Titan (think that's all I've played that style, maybe a few more?) I've never adventured to far into end game content and usually put it down. I don't think any of these had any story I enjoyed and Gameplay > Story to me.

I'm hoping by the time it hits a sale they will have added or changed features for the better. It just doesn't seem like you could mess an ARPG up if you stuck with the fundamentals. It's not a big issue, but split screen coop would of been a great addition.

Thanks again everyone!

Trash game, bought from another site so can't refund. I really hope the devs are ashamed of themselves and never release more trash like this since it just clutter the storepages.

This game would be more hack & slash than ARPG loot fest.
NasiPuti Mar 30, 2017 @ 1:49am
Also which Van Helsing do you mean? Is there a new one that isn't on Steam?
Hoochi Mama ^_^ Mar 30, 2017 @ 11:55pm
Well the game just missing more Content and depth.
They did pretty well in Graphics and Audio.
Perhaps a more diverse skill system and to be able to utilize the extra skill points you get from Altar of Gods.
Need more enemies to slash also like in diablo. perhaps they can do so by making bigger maps or even a random generated open box maps that can be used in Multiplayer.
