frustrating menu
Please make the menu for selecting ships in outfitting screen not scrollable. At least you can separate the buttons of the ships from the rest of the scrollable right column.

It is frustrating to scroll up to change the ship then scroll down to see specific value, and up again to change it to other ship then roll down and back etc...

I made a screenshot and marked the specified area, that it should be separated. You can pin those buttons on the top of the scrollable area, to never scroll down.

Thx in advance.

Yeah, we know that the sidebar in the shop can get difficult to deal with, especially if you have a large fleet. A tip I'd suggest is that if your mouse is hovering over that right-most section in the UI, then the arrow keys will navigate your list of ships, so you could use that to more easily select the ship you want without needing to scroll back up every time.

There are plans to change that sidebar though so that instead of having the entire thing scroll, you can independently scroll the list of your ships or the section showing the currently selected ship's stats.

Oh, thank you for your answer, Amazinite. After seeing the GitHub issue #5143, i feel somewhat compelled to help with the programming. I assume that this is an open source game, and if I am correct then anyone can do a pull request of his branch into the EndlessSky project.

Oh, I just read the CONTRIBUTING.md file, so I do now know a little more about it.

Do I understand it correctly, when this issue exist somebody already started to work on this code and in near future his/her code will be implemented into the game code? Because there is nobody assignet to this issue #5143.

If nobody works on this, then i would like to give it a try. (If i will be able to finish this task). But since this UI element is probably implemented through the whole game then i should start with something easier then a core game mechanics.
And if someone works on this, then I would rather start on different issue, which bites the the dust, cuz nobody is working on that problem. Hmm and I can see there is 588 open non assigned issues.
Fuha, is there somebody who determines the tasks, or can I choose just anything from the list? And assign it to myself by myself?

If an issue is opened, unassigned, and doesnt link to a PR, then it’s probably free to tackle. We rarely if ever assign issues.

It’s usually best to mention on the issue that you’re looking into it though so that we don’t have a bunch of people potentially independently working on the same issue.
